Que pourrait-il se passer en cas de problème ?
WeVibe has a bit of a spotty track record when it comes to protecting users' privacy. Back in 2016, they were caught collecting data on how and when people were using their sex toys (things like login dates, times, favorite patterns) without their knowledge. This resulted in WeVibe reaching a $3.75 million class action settlement. That's the bad news. The good news is, after they got busted for being sloppy with their users' information, they seemed to clean up their act. They removed account registration so they no longer collect things like name, email, phone number or other personally identifying information on users. And they made their anonymous data sharing opt-in, which is good. So, is your WeVibe connected sex toy now 100% safe, private, and secure? It's better, for sure. It's still a Bluetooth connected sex toy that connects to an internet connected app. One Twitter user in 2019 explained how she could control any WeVibe toy with her laptop and a long-range antenna. Does that mean your toy is likely to be hacked? No, probably not. Does that mean your toy could be hacked? Yeah, it probably could.
