Chad Fowler

Chad Fowler is General Partner and CTO at BlueYard Capital, focusing on software infrastructure, crypto and Web3 investments. A pioneering figure in the Ruby community, he co-founded Ruby Central, RubyConf, and RailsConf, and co-created RubyGems. Previously, he served as CTO of Wunderlist, leading its transformation before Microsoft's acquisition, where he then led developer advocacy. An internationally recognized speaker and author of "The Passionate Programmer," Chad is also an accomplished avant-garde jazz musician who founded Mahakala Music in 2019. His technical expertise spans Haskell, Rust, Ruby, TypeScript, and Python, with interests in the future of software development, open source, and local-first software.
