Imaginative Intelligences
Where artists, creative technologists, and storytellers imagine people‑powered digital futures.
Centering creative voices, experiences and imagination
Imaginative Intelligences (II) is a Mozilla Foundation series of artist-led assemblies in major cultural centers—co-created with local communities, partners, and cultural institutions. We bring artists and creatives together from all walks of life to think, dream, and collectively imagine what a better tech future can and should look like.
Letting culture lead
Culture leads, technology follows. With II, Mozilla Foundation opens room for imagination and keeps the internet open to what’s next. We back artist and worker agency, consent-forward norms, and local-first methods that travel. We imagine together, and then we build together.
Championing technology that serves human purpose
AI will shape culture, but the choice is whether it flattens it or helps it flourish. Creatives are speaking up to insist that the future of art must be built on process, purpose, and human lineage. Not just speed and scale.
At Mozilla Foundation, we believe technology should serve humanity’s imagination, not erode it.
« We are facing a crisis of novelty, but I still have hope that this 'remix culture' we're in can produce new forms of expression. Creativity itself is an act of rebellion. »
City editions
II grows city by city with local partners; here’s what’s live and what’s next.

We worked with the Berggruen Institute on five assemblies that brought artists and creatives across film, music, and new media to explore creative purpose at the dawn of AI. This participatory inquiry process produced nuanced insight into the industry's hopes, fears, and collective imaginings for AI—and a distillation of Hollywood's 8 Rules for AI.
