Michael Whitney leads the fundraising and mobilization teams working to support digital privacy and a free and open internet.
He previously served as Digital Fundraising Manager for both of Bernie Sanders’ U.S. Presidential campaigns, raising more than $400 million USD from grassroots donors. His career includes time at The Intercept, Centre for Australian Progress, and Change.org. He’s consulted for groups that include 350.org, ACLU, and Amnesty International USA.
He is an accomplished trainer, trusted by fundraisers and campaigners from agencies, news outlets, non-profits, labor unions, and political parties across Europe, Oceania, and North America. He lives with his family in Philadelphia, together with their joyful animal companions.
