Vice President, Strategic Communications

Dayo Lamolo is a storyteller, strategist, and systems thinker who thrives at the intersections of disciplines, cultures, and communities. She brings a rare blend of journalistic depth, legal training, and creative leadership to her role as Mozilla Foundation’s Vice President of Strategic Communications. She oversees marketing, communications, brand management, Mozilla Festival, and more. Her north star: amplifying Mozilla’s mission by connecting audiences to the people, ideas, and technologies moving us toward a more open, just internet.

Before joining Mozilla Foundation, Dayo’s career spanned investigative reporting in Washington and Nairobi, narrative design in gaming and immersive media, and legal advisory in entertainment. Her bylines have appeared in outlets like The New York Times, The Atlantic, and Foreign Policy. Her book, “The Bright Continent: Breaking Rules and Making Change in Modern Africa,” is a powerful exploration of innovation across the continent. She’s worked with institutions like the BBC, the Skoll Foundation, and Google, telling nuanced stories about how technology and people shape one another.

Originally from Chicago and now based in London, Dayo brings curiosity, candor, and clarity to her leadership. She plays on a tennis team, supports Arsenal, occasionally goes to Burning Man, and is a champion of Radical Candor — always open to real, constructive conversation.
