Louis Barclay

Louis Barclay is a technologist with a background in creating open source tools to give people more control over big tech. His work focuses on consumer choice and transparency in the face of anti-competitive tech practices. Louis is a fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center, an affiliate at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center, and founder and editor at Attention, a new publication to examine tech power dynamics in a playful way.

Louis' project will raise awareness of choice as a fundamental building block for trustworthy AI, especially among consumers in the Global Majority; and campaign for platform transparency through PikTop, a platform to discover the most viewed content on TikTok.
