Technology should enhance our lives. We see this potential every day as the internet, apps, and tech products help bring us joy, explore new hobbies, grow our connections, live healthier lifestyles, and more. Yet, we’ve also seen the dark side of tech — the growing mental health crisis among today’s youth, the polarization of our society, and the promotion of extremism. As Big Tech prioritizes profits over people, these problems only grow worse.
Individuals shouldn't have to take extraordinary measures just to protect their privacy, security, and well-being online. That is where Mozilla comes in. We don’t have shareholders and we don’t have to squeeze profit out of your data. Our focus is entirely on making the internet a better, healthier place for everyone. We’re fighting for connected devices that protect your privacy and security by default and for an internet that deepens our connections, not our divisions.
Simply put, we need more resources and donations to help change things. Mozilla is the underdog against a Big Tech industry that often makes money at the expense of its customer's well-being. Yet, with a tiny fraction of the lobbying budget of Big Tech, Mozilla initiatives like the Privacy Not Included Buyer’s Guide, YouTube Regrets, and our Internet Health Report make a big impact.
We’ve motivated tech giants to change their products and reshaped industry-wide conversations around privacy, security, AI, and what constitutes a healthy internet. These achievements are only possible because of millions of supporters like you. Can you help us raise $150,000 with a large-dollar donation or pledge ($1,000 or more annually) by August 31? With your help, we can scale up the initiatives highlighted during this campaign and match the growing threats facing the internet today.
